My practice is rooted in observation and curiosity—drawing inspiration from people, places, and quiet moments often overlooked. Each piece is an attempt to slow down time and translate feeling into form, creating visuals that invite viewers to pause, reflect, and find their own stories within the work.
I’m Sayan Mukherjee, a visual artist from India, passionate about storytelling through art. I create illustrations and murals that capture everyday moments, cultural memories, and human emotions—using colour and movement to turn spaces and pages into experiences that feel personal, alive, and connecting.

Turning stories, culture, and everyday moments into visual experiences through art.
Sayan Mukherjee is a muralist, character designer, and lifestyle and story illustrator born and raised in India. His practice is rooted in storytelling using images to capture emotion, movement, and the quiet poetry of everyday life.
Before stepping into his independent art practice, Sayan spent several years in the advertising industry, working as an art director. This experience shaped his strong visual sensibility, narrative clarity, and ability to communicate ideas with impact. Eventually, his growing desire to tell deeper, more personal stories through art led him to pursue a full-time solo career in illustration and mural-making.
Working with bold, vibrant colours and dynamic compositions, Sayan creates vivid visual worlds that reflect the rhythm and movement of life that continually inspire him. His work spans multiple scales and mediums from intricate illustrations to expansive wall murals, each designed to engage viewers and transform spaces into immersive visual experiences.
Sayan has collaborated with a wide range of clients, including Nike, Google, Adobe, Coke, Penguin Books, Hachette Books, Scholastic India, HarperCollins, Shell, Tanishq, and others.
