Asian Paints in collaboration with Start India Foundation came up with this unique idea to celebrate the 40 year journey of Sharadshamman. The idea of capturing the journey on Kolkata’s iconic yellow taxis brought a very fresh perspective to the visual storytelling. As Kolkata bids farewell to its iconic yellow taxis, it is reimagined as a bunch of moving canvases, each one of them narrating the story in a visual illustrative way. A total of 40 taxis were painted through mural painting turning the streets into a vibrant place during the occasion of Durga Puja.

The journey from 1985 to 2025 was painted on the yellow taxis very creatively. Each taxi represented Sharadshamman’s 10 year journey, consisting of 4 such taxis telling the stories of Sharadshamman through mural art.
More than a moving art installation, the project became a city wide celebration encapsulating the visual journey of Sharadshamman on the iconic yellow taxis, which have always been an integral part of Kolkata for decades.
