Gita For children
The Gita for Children is a classic and timeless book written by Roopa Pai. The book was first published in 2015 and it was quickly loved by the readers for the way it teaches the profound knowledge and wisdom of Bhagavad Gita. The use of illustrations simplify the complex philosophical ideas and it made the book very easy to understand for children. Children loved the book so much that the publisher Hachette India brought out a new edition, which is a luxury rendition of the same book with new illustrations in it.
I loved creating the cover and the inside illustrations for the book.
The outer flap of the cover depicts the iconic conversation between Krishna and Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. When the flap is opened, the scene transforms and both Krishna and Arjuna are transported to a metaphysical plane. The visual shift shows the depth of their dialogues where the battlefield fades away to a more expansive and contemplative space. It shows their conversation is beyond the immediate world, rather it is in the realms of philosophy and self realisation.
