033 cafe mural was one of my early mural art projects and holds a special place for me. It was the first coffee shop wall mural I painted back in 2019. The wall mural works as a centrepiece of the mural narrating a story which is deeply rooted in Kolkata, its people and its relationship with food. I wanted to make the wall mural in such a way that it becomes the slice of the city. For inspiration of the mural, I had used the waiters of The India Coffee House, their attire and gesture. Around the central character I have built a narrative of Kolkata’s people someone having tea, another one reading the newspaper, girls taking selfie and so on. Each character added a lot to the storytelling and created an immersive wall mural artwork.

Looking back, it was quite an enjoyable experience for me as I used to work at the cafe the whole night by myself. It was such a therapeutic experience for me.
